Wonderwoods wins MIPIM Award Best Mixed-Use Project 2025
Wonderwoods won the award for ‘Best Mixed-Use Project’ at the MIPIM Awards 2025 ceremony in Cannes on Thursday 13 March. This international prize, awarded during MIPIM in Cannes, rewards the most innovative and sustainable real estate projects worldwide.
Wonderwoods stands out for its unique combination of living, working and leisure in a unique urban green oasis, setting a new standard for urban development.

More than 200 projects from 36 countries were submitted for the MIPIM Awards 2025. Of these, 39 projects from 22 countries were nominated in 10 categories. The jury focuses on projects that aim to improve the future of the built environment in line with ESG goals. From focusing on construction and operational carbon to climate and life-cycle aspects. In particular, the awards go to projects that best serve their end users and wider community while contributing to the economy.
Anne van Kralingen, Jeroen Post and Jim ten Hoor accepted the award on behalf of G&S&, and Marcel Schipper on behalf of VolkerWessels – in the presence of our partners a.s.r. real estate, MVSA Architects and Stefano Boeri Architetti (with the attendance of Stefano Boeri and Francesca Cesa Bianchi). Mixed-use in urban, green oasis
Wonderwoods is a mixed-use new-build project in the heart of Utrecht developed by G&S&. The project, consisting of two towers designed by MVSA Architects and Stefano Boeri Architetti with one hectare of vertical forest, combines living, working and leisure in a unique urban oasis. The 80,000 m2 building provides 167 owner-occupied homes. In addition, there are 252 rental homes owned by ASR Dutch Core Residential Fund and 14,700 m2 of office space owned by ASR Dutch Mobility Office Fund. The building will also house a gym, catering facilities such as restaurant, coffee bars and lunch spots, a bicycle shed, car park and mobility hub.
